Dr. Mariusz Wirga has over 20 years of experience in addressing the psychological, spiritual, existential and interpersonal aspects of cancer treatment. He started facilitating groups for cancer patients and their families as a resident in pathology and later in radiation oncology (before he finally switched to psychiatry).

Since 2004 Dr. Mariusz Wirga leads the Beat the Odds - Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Program. Its core consists of 10 weekly classes. Research shows that such interventions reduce stress, improve quality of life, and may increase survival. The classes are complemented by family and individual sessions if needed.
